While using our software, we may ask users to provide us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify them. Personally identifiable information is known as ‘Personal Data’ and will include, but is not limited to a user’s name. The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) framework considers the following items stored by Trading Apps to be ‘Personal Data’:
• Trader user names
• Application user names and email addresses
• IT/Ops email addresses (e.g., Application option frontline support emails)
• Counterparty contact names and email addresses
Additionally, some comments fields (trade, security, borrow request, and so on) may possibly contain Personal Data. However Trading Apps has no control over the content.
Like many software operators, we collect information that browsers send whenever a user visits our applications (‘Log Data’). This Log Data may include information such as a computer's IP address, browser type, browser version, the pages of our applications that are being visited, the time and date of a visit, the time spent on those pages and other statistics.
In addition, we may use third party services such as Google Analytics that collect, monitor and analyse this information.
We do not use a user’s Personal Data to contact them with any marketing information, or share it with any third parties.
Session Cookies containing Personal Data are typically encrypted using SSL/TLS (HTTPS) and JWT (JSON Web Token) credentials. JWTs are encrypted, and used in Trading Apps release 3.15 onwards.
The security of a user’s Personal Data is important to us, but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect Personal Data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
